During the 23rd China (Shanghai) International Power Equipment and Generator Sets Exhibition, Hebei North China Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. (Huachai Company) launched a series of independently developed methanol power products, including methanol engines, range extenders, and smart power generation Engine and marine power systems. These products inherit the V-shaped structural advantages of the 132 series engines and achieve significant improvements in power, efficiency and environmental performance. Through cooperation with major enterprises and universities, Huachai Company actively promotes the application of methanol power in non-road machinery and marine fields, contributing to the promotion and application of green energy.
In the global green development trend, Huachai launched its self-developed methanol power series products to global customers at the 23rd China (Shanghai) International Power Equipment and Generator Set Exhibition, including methanol engines, range extenders, intelligent generator sets and marine power systems. Zhang Haitao, general manager of Huachai, emphasized that the development and launch of this series of products not only reflects Huachai’s technological innovation capabilities, but also demonstrates its responsibility and commitment to actively respond to the call for green development.
The methanol engine newly launched by Huachai inherits the V-shaped structural advantages of the 132 series engines, covering multiple models such as V6, V8, and V12, with a power range from 200 kW to 600 kW, becoming a new green and efficient power choice. The methanol series products have been treated with alcohol corrosion prevention for key metal parts and rubber parts to ensure the reliability and autonomous controllability of key components. This series of engines uses a dedicated high-power methanol heating system, completely eliminating the use of fossil fuels, and truly realizing the reliable operation of M100 methanol fuel, which not only reduces operating costs, but also greatly reduces environmental pollution and promotes sustainable development.
In addition, the R&D team also designed an exclusive combustion chamber, airway structure, control system and high-energy ignition system to ensure that methanol fuel can function stably and efficiently. According to tests, the thermal efficiency of this series of engines has exceeded 41%, which is significantly improved compared with traditional engines.
In the field of non-road machinery and marine applications, Huachai has developed a 250 kW to 500 kW methanol range-extending power system, and has cooperated with relevant companies to develop mining vehicles and mining liquid excavators, achieving the low-carbon, environmentally friendly and domestically controlled goals of green mining equipment power systems. Huachai is also actively developing and promoting the application of marine methanol engines and their range extenders to help green navigation on the water.
As methanol vehicles, ships, engineering equipment and fuels are being promoted and applied, Huachai’s methanol fuel generator sets will play an important role in various market fields. This not only demonstrates Huachai’s R&D strength, but also marks the beginning of a new era of green power.
