In 1979, the Ministry of Ordnance Industry at that time authorized the introduction of a production license agreement for Deutz B/F413F series air-cooled diesel engines, which made it nine years after the establishment of the “Huachai” factory that it ended its history of not having a main product.
In the following year (1980), Weiyang Diesel Engine Factory, also affiliated to the China Ordnance Industry Group, also started the introduction of Deutz diesel engines.
In May of the same year, led by China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation, “Beijing General Internal Combustion Engine Factory” obtained the production license agreement for Deutz FL912/913 series air-cooled diesel engines. At the same time, many domestic diesel engine manufacturers passed the introduction of production licenses The form received production qualification from Deutz.
In the 21st century, Deutz’s emphasis on the Chinese market has risen again. On August 22, 2007, the former established a joint venture with FAW, the leader of China’s auto industry, to establish “Deutz FAW (Dalian) Diesel Engine Co., Ltd.”, which is also the most famous joint venture of Deutz in China so far.
The joint venture mainly produces Deutz diesel engines and their parts, which are sold in the Chinese market. These engines are widely used in construction machinery, agricultural machinery, port machinery and other fields. The joint venture provides Chinese customers with high-performance and reliable engine products by combining the advanced technology of German Deutz company with the needs of China’s local market.
